Devyani surges 29% in 3-days, stock up 111% from issue price in 4 months

Shares of Devyani International continued their northward journey for the third straight trading day, and were up 8 per cent at Rs 190.20 on the BSE in Thursday’s intra-day trade.

The stock of the quick service restaurant (QSR) firm was trading at its new high, and has rallied 29 per cent in the last three trading days. With the current surge in market price of the company, the stock has zoomed 111 per cent from its issue price of Rs 90 per share.

The price of 1 kg of silver increased by Rs 700, with the precious metal trading at Rs 61,900.

In Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold stands at Rs 51,390, while in Mumbai it is at Rs 47,840, according to the Goodreturns website.

Electric two-wheeler maker Simple Energy on Wednesday said it will invest up to ~2,500 crore over the next five years to set up an electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The proposed facility, spread across 600 acres, will be the company's second such production unit and is expected to be functional by 2023, the Bengaluru-based company said in a release.

India’s Simple Energy plans to invest as much as 25 billion rupees ($330 million) in new capacity to make electric scooters, with support from the government in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.

The Bangalore-based company is constructing an initial facility an hour outside the city with the goal of starting operations in 2022 and the capacity to produce a million electric two-wheelers a year. It aims to open a second, larger plant in Dharmapuri in 2023, with capacity to make 12.5 million of such scooters annually.
