Meghalaya CM rules out possibility of repealing Gaming regulation act

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has ruled out the possibility of repealing the Meghalaya Regulation of Gaming Act, 2021 saying its repeal would cost the state about Rs 10 crore revenue loss.

He said the Act is required to regulate existing gambling parlours which have been there for the past 25 years in the hill state.

Infrastructure investment trust IndiGrid has posted over 45 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 99.80 crore in the March quarter, mainly on the back of higher revenues.

The consolidated net profit of India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) was Rs 68.69 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2021, a regulatory filing showed.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched a coordinated search operation at over 10 locations in multiple cities on Saturday in connection with the NSE co-location scam case, officials said.

The search operation will cover brokers at more than 12 premises in Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Kolkata, among other cities, they added.

The flood situation in Assam further worsened on Friday, while the death of four more persons, including two children, took the toll to 14 in the current pre-monsoon floods and landslides and over 8 lakh people have been affected in 29 of the state's 34 districts, officials said.

Assam State Disaster Management Authority officials said that the four deaths were reported from Cachar (2), Nagaon, and Lakhimpur districts.
