Shares of Wipro were up 3.5 per cent to Rs 388 in Friday’s intra-day trade, after the company announced share buyback plan worth Rs 12,000 crore. The firm intends to buy back about 4.91 per cent of its shares at Rs 445 per share through tender route.

However, in the past one year, Wipro has underperformed market as shares fell 26 per cent, as against 5.4 per cent rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 351.85 on April 17, 2023.

Gold price remained unchanged in Friday's early trade with 10 grams of the yellow metal (24-carat) trading at Rs 61,040, according to the GoodReturns website. Silver price fell Rs 300 with 1 kg of the precious metal selling at Rs 76,200.
