Kotak Mutual Fund has announced a temporary suspension of lumpsum and switch-in investments in its Kotak Silver ETF Fund of Fund, effective October 10, 2025. The decision comes in response to a significant premium on domestic silver compared to international prices, driven by acute scarcity in India’s physical silver market.

India’s drug regulator has sought a list of cough syrup manufacturers from all the states and UT as it plans to launch nationwide joint inspections of all such firms as the death toll of children due alleged intake of toxic syrups mounted to 24 on Thursday.

According to sources, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) will conduct testing, inspection and auditing of cough syrup manufacturers.

The Chennai police received a call on Thursday about a bomb threat at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay's house, which later turned out to be a hoax.

The government is in final stages of launching a ₹7,350 crore scheme to spur domestic production of sintered rare earth permanent magnets (REPMs) and cut import dependence, Business Standard has learnt. Nineteen terrorists of the outlawed TTP and 11 soldiers were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said.
