Malaysia joins Thailand, Sri Lanka to allow visa-free entry to Indians

Malaysia is set to scrap entry visa requirements for citizens of China and India starting December 1, announced the country’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, on Sunday. This decision follows a similar visa waiver implemented by Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Under this new policy, Chinese and Indian nationals will enjoy a visa-free stay of up to 30 days, subject to security screening, said the Malaysian Prime Minister in his speech during the People’s Justice Party’s annual congress, according to Bloomberg.

The ET report added that PhonePe is in the final stages of integration with five banks and non-banking finance companies. In the later stage, PhonePe may also look at a credit line offering.

According to data provided by stock exchanges, Copthall Mauritius Investment picked up 7.57 million shares and Ghisallo Master Fund LP acquired 4.2 million shares, amounting to a 1.19 per cent and 0.67 per cent stake in Paytm, respectively.

PoS transactions increased to Rs 57,774.35 crore and e-commerce payments to Rs 120,794.40 crore in October.
