Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) on Wednesday refuted the report which said that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has found that about Rs 2,000 crore may have been diverted from the company.

"Reports and rumours pertaining to accounting issues in co. are 'incorrect and false'," the company said as reported by news agency Reuters. "We are in the process of providing all comments requested by Sebi and has extended complete cooperation on all aspects."

Eminent jurist and senior advocate Fali S Nariman has passed away at the age of 95. He served as the president of the Bar Association of India from 1991 to 2010 and was awarded the Padma Bhushan (1991) and Padma Vibhushan (2007), among India's highest civilian honours, for his contributions to the field of law.

Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart has engaged in discussions in recent weeks regarding a potential acquisition of Dunzo, the hyperlocal delivery startup backed by Reliance Retail. It could take three to six months to migrate all existing Paytm customers to another payments service provider, according to people in the know. The digital payments major, on the other hand, it has been learnt, is looking to apply for a third-party application provider (TPAP) licence from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

A TPAP license will ensure that Paytm users can continue to make digital payments via the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

India’s market regulator has found a hole of more than $240 million in the accounts of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., dealing another blow to the embattled media firm less than a month after its merger with Sony Group Corp’s local unit collapsed.

As part of its investigation into the Zee founders, the Securities and Exchange Board of India, or Sebi, found that about Rs 2,000 crore ($241 million) may have been diverted from the company, said people familiar with the matter who did not want to be identified as the information is not public yet.

The finance ministry on Tuesday said that the Japanese government has committed a loan of 232.209 billion yen (about Rs 12,800 crore) for nine projects related to various sectors in India.
