Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Tuesday launched ‘Innova Limited Edition 2014’ for the festive season. Only 1,500 units of the new Innova LE, in an exclusive brand new colour — Bronze Mica Metallic — besides Silver Mica Metallic, will be available till November.

It is based on the existing Gx Grade and comes with the options of seven and eight seater in both Euro III and Euro IV engines, a release from the company said.

Continuing its rising streak for the ninth straight session, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose over 129 points to hit a new high of 27,148.90 in opening trade today on sustained foreign capital inflows coupled with a firming trend on other Asian bourses.

The 30-share index, which had gained over 705 points in the previous eight sessions, gathered another 129.51 points, or 0.47 per cent, to trade at a new peak of 27,148.90, surpassing its earlier record of 27,082.85 touched yesterday (intra-day).

NEW DELHI: Seven years after the merger of erstwhile Indian Airlines and Air India was announced, the national carrier drew some criticism last week for celebrating 'Air India day' on August 27 - the day in 2007 when the merger process formally began.

KOLKATA: The telecom department (DoT) has for the first time set a cutoff date—July 31, 2015—for concluding the much discussed merger of struggling state-run telecom companies, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.

In a presentation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seen by ET, DoT said it expects to "secure Cabinet approval for the proposed BSNL-MTNL merger by June 30 next year".

Pitching for a higher remunerative price for natural gas, state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) has said it needs $6-7.15 to break-even on gas it plans to produce from its most prolific KG basin block. In its submission to the four-member panel of secretaries working out a new gas pricing mechanism, ONGC said in 2013-14 its cost of gas production, after including return on capital, came to $4.43 per million British thermal unit, higher than the current price of $4.2.

Tata Motors has surged more than 2% to Rs 528 on the BSE after receiving an order of approximately 2,700 Urban buses under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM)- II scheme.

According to the company, it received an order for 487 units from KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) and another for supply of 780 units from HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) for Tata Marcopolo built buses as per “Urban Bus Specifications” under JnNURM - II scheme.
