Rajinikanth's Lingaa gets mega-insurance cover of over Rs 200 cr

Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film Lingaa that is set to hit the theatres on December 12 has secured a mega-insurance cover including production insurance and loss of revenue for India and overseas.

Industry estimates suggest that the size of the cover would be well above Rs 200 crore. This includes Rs 100 crore plus for production cover, apart from coverage against force majeure incidents that could disrupt the screening of the film. The film, shot in a record span of eight months, has reportedly been made on a budget of Rs 100 crore.

The company will toe the line of peers Hero MotoCorp and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, which increased their prices by Rs 250-550. Bajaj Auto had increased the prices of its Pulsar range by Rs 1,000 a few weeks ago but had left its economy range untouched.

ICICI Bank to sell its Russia subsidiary IBEL

ICICI Bank, India’s largest private-sector lender, plans to sell its Russian subsidiary ICICI Bank Eurasia Limited Liability Company (IBEL) to Sovcombank, a mid-sized Russian bank.

“The sale is subject to execution of definitive agreements and regulatory approvals. The purchase price will be determined on the transaction completion date based on the financial statements of IBEL at that date. The transaction is expected to conclude by the end of the financial year,” ICICI Bank said in a notification to the exchanges.

Axis Bank, India’s third largest private-sector lender has gained over 1% at Rs 505 after the bank on Tuesday said that it has raised Rs 5,705 crore by selling infrastructure bonds. The 10-year senior unsecured redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) were priced at 8.85 per cent a year, payable annually.

The NCDs have been rated AAA by CRISIL and ICRA. The bonds will be allotted to eligible investors on Friday.
