Shashank Manohar set to replace N. Srinivasan as ICC chief

New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is all set to have a new chairman, with the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) likely to replace N. Srinivasan with its current chief Shashank Manohar. The decision to replace Srinivasan as the BCCI’s nominee to ICC is likely to be taken next Monday at BCCI’s annual general meeting (AGM) in Mumbai.

ICC revamped its governance structure and amended its constitution last July, making Srinivasan the first chairman of cricket’s governing body. BCCI’s latest move to replace its former chief will prematurely end his two-year tenure as ICC chairman.

As the company says Amazon Books is a physical extension of Amazon.com. It will apply its 20 years of online book selling experience to integrate the benefits of offline and online book shopping in their store. “The books in our store are selected based on Amazon.com customer ratings, pre-orders, sales, popularity on Goodreads, and our curators’ assessments.

About 200 founders of Indian startups will get together at the Infosys campus in Mysuru in January 2016 for a three-day retreat and conference. The session will commence with yoga, and end late night with brainstorming on strategies to push their companies to the next level. Design-thinking methodologies will be employed by the startup founders to identify and resolve certain problems such as: What emotions would their company want to invoke from customers? What would make the company obsolete in three years? etc.

TVS Motor Company has surged nearly 7% to Rs 292 on the NSE after the two-wheeler maker reported 14% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in total sales at 274,622 units in October 2015, the highest sales growth in past six months. The company had sold 241,044 units in the same month last year.

Earlier, in April 2015, the company had reported 14% y-o-y jump in total sales.

Bengaluru: India’s software trade lobby group National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has submitted a memo to a UK panel of immigration advisors flagging concerns about the government’s proposed move to curb migration of skilled foreign workers into the country.

In the memo, submitted on 25 September in response to the Migration Advisory Committee’s call for comments from all stakeholders in the visa process, Nasscom argued any curbs will significantly increase the operating cost of businesses in the UK and force companies to export job overseas to stay competitive.
