Air India crew member caught stealing in-flight food

A cabin crew member of national carrier Air India was recently caught by vigilance officials stealing in-flight meals.

Following a tip-off about a woman cabin crew member arriving from an international flight (AI 274) from Colombo, the officers screened her baggage to find that she had pilfered various items, according to a report in Hindustan Times.

LIC to launch its e-services today

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will launch its e-services today that will enable policyholders to have easy access to their policies, policy status, claim information, among others.

The e-services will include policy image, status of policy, claim status and renewal information. One can also choose to pay their premiums online with the help of these services, making the process quicker and easier. E-mail and SMS alerts will also be a part of these services.

Maruti Suzuki dips post January sales

Maruti Suzuki India has dipped 3% to Rs 3,971 on the BSE after the country’s largest car-maker reported a 2.6% decline in total sales in January 2016 at 113,606 units, due to lower export sales. The company had sold 116,606 units in the same month in 2015.

Earlier, in the month of March 2015, Maruti Suzuki India had recorded negative growth of 1.6% in monthly sales.

Bank of Baroda scam: RBI tells banks to conduct internal audit

All public sector and private banks have been asked by the Reserve Bank of India to conduct a “thorough internal audit” and put the report before their respective audit committees, as part of the central bank's efforts to check fraudulent foreign exchange transactions. The move comes in the wake of irregularities that came to light last year in Rs 6,100-crore import remittances effected by Bank of Baroda’s Ashok Vihar branch in New Delhi.

Sebi changes comex rules for safer trades

MUMBAI: Market regulator Sebi on Friday reduced position limits in the agri commodities derivatives trading segment which, market players said, would make the segment safer and reduce volatility. But the move may also hit all those participants who want to hedge their risks through commodity exchanges (comexes).

The decision follows National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) on Wednesday suspending trading in castor seeds futures as it feared concentration of positions among a handful of participants and chances of default by a few members. The new rules will be effective March 1, a release from the regulator said.
