Indian Oil Corporation records crude oil processing at 56.1 MT in FY16

State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Friday said it has achieved a new record crude oil processing of 56.1 million tonnes (MT) in 2015-16 fiscal, with highest ever distillate production.

IOC's nine refineries operated at 103.5% of the installed capacity in the fiscal, IOC Director (Refineries) Sanjiv Singh said.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned its fifth 500 MW set at Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) in Maharashtra. With this, 9 coal-based sets aggregating to 3,340 MW, all supplied and commissioned by BHEL, are now operational at Chandrapur STPP of Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd (Mahagenco). The commissioned unit is the second 500 MW unit of Stage-III (2x500 MW) of the project being executed by BHEL.

Coal India misses 2014-15 production target, but clocks 8.6% growth

Although Coal India (CIL) missed its production target for 2014-15 by nearly 2.5 per cent at 536.5 million tonnes (mt), the company registered an output growth of 8.6 per cent compared with 2013-14. Its offtake, under tapered demand for coal, also rose 8.8 per cent during the year ended March 31, 2015.

Coal minister Piyush Goyal tweeted the growth to be the highest ever in “almost three decades”.

Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland Ltd has registered 31% growth in total sales at 16,702 units during March, 2016 as against 12,754 units the same month of 2015. The share price of the company has seen a 52 week high of Rs 110.9 on Friday, when the monthly and annual sales figures are announced.

The company today announced the sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) reported a growth of 32% at 13,240 units in March, this year compared to 10,027 units during March, last year. The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales has experienced an increase of 27%, to 3,462 units during March, 2016, from 2,727 units in March, 2015.

Indian Oil Corp bids for fuel trade with Myanmar

Indian state-run company Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has bid for fuel trade with Myanmar, the media reported on Friday.

Myanmar Petroleum Products Enterprise (MPPE) offered the tender to cooperate as a joint venture (JV) for import, storage, distribution and sale of all petroleum products except liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas. IOC has bid by 1.64% for that tender.

NEW DELHI: Country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today posted a 15.9 per cent rise in total sales in March at 1,29,345 units as against 1,11,555 units in the same month last year.

The company's domestic sales increased 14.6 per cent during the month to 1,18,895 units as against 1,03,719 units in March 2015.

The broader Nifty fell 0.33% to end at 7,713.05, while the benchmark Sensex dropped 0.28% to close at 25,269.64, retreating from a nearly three-month high hit on Thursday.

New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Friday said that its domestic vehicle sales in March went up 4,24% to 41,201 units.

The company’s sales, including exports, grew 3.4% to 51,452 units, Hyundai said in a statement.
