Geo-political issues continued to dominate the scene as the Sensex slipped over 88 points in early part on Monday, mirroring global losses.

The weakness remained for the third session as the 30-share index fell 88.32 points, or 0.30%, to 29,373.13. Much of the softness came from metal, IT, FMCG, technology and auto.

Auto maker Ford India today launched sports edition of its hatchback Figo and compact sedan Aspire in the country.

Diesel variant of Figo Sports edition is priced at Rs 7.21 lakh while the petrol trim is tagged at Rs 6.31 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The new variants come with over dozen design and performance enhancements.

While heading the Sahara and Securities Exchange Board of India's (Sebi) case on Monday, the Supreme Court ordered the conglomerate's chief to make an appearance before it. It also ordered the sale of Sahara's Aamby Valley in Lonavala.

The case pertains to returning the money of investors which was unlawfully raised by the Sahara Group. In a hearing on March 21, the SC had warned Sahara that it would auction its Lonavala Aamby Valley project if the latter fails to deposit the amount of Rs 5,000.

Private lender Axis Bank has touched 1 million micro-borrowers mark and is not keen on acquiring stake in any microlender, a senior official has said.

State Bank of India’s one-time settlement (OTS) scheme for tractor loans has failed to get adequate response.

Only Rs 24 crore worth cases have come under it. In a portfolio of around Rs 4,000 crore of tractor loans, about Rs 800 crore worth loans were eligible for the scheme. The bank is assessing reasons for the lukewarm response, and might look at extending the March 31 deadline.

The Department of Telecom and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India last year approved the mobile virtual network operator licensing process. In December 2016, Adpay Mobile Payment formally received the MVNO license to offer its Aerovoyce services.

Government-owned Air India today announced a discounted Star award mileage redemption offer for passengers planning to travel within the USA. The six-day offer that commenced from Thursday, will remain valid till April 18. The travel period under the offer can be taken any time during the next 330 days, Air India said in a release.

Besides, the offer allows passengers to revive and redeem their flying return points that were not availed and have expired now, it said.

Apple will begin testing self-driving car technology in California, its first public move into a highly competitive field that could radically change transportation.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles awarded Apple a permit to test autonomous vehicles on Thursday and disclosed that information on its website. A spokesman for the department said the permit will cover three vehicles all 2015 Lexus RX 450h hybrid SUVs — and six individual drivers. The state requires a human behind the wheel during such testing.
