NEW DELHI: IT firm Tech Mahindra, in collaboration with electricity trade platform provider Power Ledger, on Friday announced a series of trials to develop a new mechanism of electricity production through 'Microgrid-as-a-Service' (MaaS).

MaaS is an integrated platform incubated by Tech Mahindra to create a new model in the electricity market which will enable building owners, campuses, Smart Cities and other communities to produce and manage their own electricity affordably and even trade in case of excess generation.

In line with the central government's Digital India programme, state-run ONGC has gone completely paperless in all its offices in Gujarat. The initiative is expected to raise efficiency and transparency level in the functioning of Maharatna.

ONGC's paperless office project, christened as DISHA, was launched by Prime Minister at ONGC's Ahmedabad asset through video conference on Monday.

At least 27 people were killed and over 30 others injured in a rush-hour stampede on a foot overbridge (FOB) linking Elphinstone Road and Parel suburban railway stations in Mumbai on Friday morning.

The incident took place at around 10:30 am due to a heavy crowd at the foot-over bridge after rains.

The injured have been rushed to KEM hospital.

Markets regulator Sebi plans to put in a framework for continuous listing norms for listed entities, according to a regulatory source. The move comes when multiple agencies and regulators are clamping down on suspected shell companies as part of larger efforts to curb undisclosed money.

Bank of Baroda said on Thursday it had cut the base rate by 0.35 per cent to 9.15 per cent with effect from Sunday.

State Bank of India has also revised interest rates on some retail domestic term deposits below Rs 1 crore. Revised interest rate on one-year retail domestic term deposit is 6.50 per cent for public and 7 per cent for senior citizens.

Ashok Leyland Limited (ALL) hit a new high of Rs 121, up 3% on BSE, surpassing its previous high of Rs 120 touched in last of week, after the rating agency ICRA assigns credit rating for commercial paper issue with stable outlook.

“The ratings draw strength from ALL’s strong business risk profile marked by its sustained gain in market share in domestic Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment in recent years and improvement in operational efficiencies following cost rationalization initiatives undertaken,” ICRA said in statement.

Infosys filed a complaint with the cyber crime police of Bengaluru against a person who allegedly sent defamatory mail to the firm's chief financial officer, M D Ranganath, and its head of investor relations-- Sandeep Mahindroo.

The company said in the complaint that a person identified as Alpesh Patel sent objectionable mails to the senior executives of the firm.
