The country’s second-biggest carmaker, Hyundai, showcased its India-centric electric sedan concept car Ionic at the Auto Expo 2018, held in Greater Noida in February this year. Now, the South Korean automobile giant is reportedly planning to bring an electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) and sedan to India, according to a news report in the Economic Times.

Lack of funds is leading to more problems than just non-payment of salaries at national carrier Air India. According to the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA), Air India has grounded 23 per cent of its present fleet, mainly due to lack of spares and poor maintenance.

Coal India Ltd (CIL) today posted 61.07 per cent jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 3,786.44 crore for the June quarter of 2018-19 financial year.

Replying to question whether the government is considering withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes shortly, Minister of State for Finance Pon Radhakrishnan in the Lok Sabha said, “there is no such proposal.”
