L&T net up 8% at Rs 3,418 cr in Q4; dividend of Rs 18 a share announced

Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) reported on Friday its net profit rose 8 per cent to Rs 3,418 crore in the March quarter (Q4) of FY2018-19 year-on-year, according to a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The Board of Directors has recommended for the approval of shareholders, a dividend of Rs 18 per equity share.

Broadcast regulator TRAI Friday said it is examining possible solutions for achieving TV Set-Top-Box (STB) interoperability, and expects to make headway with industry involvement by the end of this year. The move assumes significance since consumers get tied down to their service providers, as STBs are bound to the operator. When a consumer wants to change the service provider, they are forced to invest in a new STB, adding to the cost burden. SBI reports Q4 profit of Rs 838 crore, NPAs decline

State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday reported standalone net profit at Rs 838.4 crore for the March quarter of the financial year 2018-19 (FY19). The state-owned lender had posted a loss of Rs 7,711.17 crore in the year-ago period. Net interest income (NII) during the quarter came in at Rs 22,954 crore, up 15 per cent on year-on-year (YoY) basis.

Bajaj Auto Friday said it has launched a new version of its Avenger Street 160 model equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) priced at Rs 82,253 (ex-Showroom Delhi).

The new Avenger Street 160 has a single channel ABS along with a roadster design headlamp with LED DRLs, new graphics with larger insignia, black alloy wheels and rubberised rear grab, Bajaj Auto said in a statement.

The company produced a total of 1,47,669 units in April, down 9.6% from 163,368 units a year ago, it said in a regulatory filing.

PNB Housing Finance on Thursday reported a 51% year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in net profit to Rs 378 crore for the quarter ended March 31, led by increase in fee income and lower provisions. In the same quarter last year, the mortgage lender posted a net profit of Rs 252 crore.
