In a relaxation of lockdown restrictions after reviewing the Covid-19 situation, the Delhi Government has allowed veterinarians, plumbers, electricians and repairers of water purifiers to resume their work from Tuesday.

In an order issued on Monday, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has allowed operations of veterinary hospitals, dispensaries, clinics, pathology labs, sale and supply of vaccine and medicine.

The Health Ministry on Wednesday stated that 85 districts in the country have not reported any new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days. It further informed that 16 districts in the country which earlier had cases have not reported any fresh cases since last 28 days.

As the researchers across the globe are racing against time to develop a coronavirus COVID-19 vaccine, Oxford's Jenner Institute, which has taken a lead in clinical trials of the vaccine, has expressed hope that COVID-19 vaccine could be made available by September 2020.

It is to be noted that scientists at Jenner Institute have succeeded in getting a promising start on developing the vaccine, having already proved in earlier trials that similar immunisation could prove safe for humans, reported the New York Times.

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir arrested a terrorist and his associate on Monday from the Uri region of Baramulla district. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from his possession.

Shares of multiplex operators including PVR and Inox Leisure hit their respective 52-week lows on the BSE on Monday, in an otherwise firm market, on reports that about six states want lockdown extended beyond May 3.

Individually, Inox Leisure slipped 6 per cent to hit a low of Rs 202, while PVR declined 3 per cent to hit Rs 924 on the BSE in the intra-day trade today. In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 2 per cent at 31,989 points at 11:08 am.
