India’s largest engineering and construction firm, Larsen and Toubro (L&T), is planning to start bidding for road projects under the hybrid annuity model (HAM), introduced just two years ago. The company will bid for HAM projects through its infrastructure development subsidiary, L&T L&T Infrastructure Development Projects (IDPL), L&T IDPL’s CEO Shailesh Pathak told FE.

Engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said its construction arm has bagged orders worth Rs 2,210 crore across business segments in the domestic market. L&T said its water and effluent treatment business has secured orders worth Rs 2,044 crore.

Mumbai: Multiple years of losses have substantially eroded the networth of engineering major L&T's shipbuilding arm and led its independent auditors to cast “significant doubt” over whether the company can continue as a "going concern".

L&T, the parent, however said its investment in L&T Shipbuilding is “strategic” and affirmed its financial support. In accounting parlance, the 'going concern assumption' typically means that the company will remain in business for the foreseeable future without being forced to halt operations and liquidate its assets.

Engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) reported a 5 per cent year-on-year increase in its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 31.70 billion for the quarter ended March 2018 on improved operational performance, surpassing the Bloomberg consensus estimate of Rs 29.95 billion. The company, which beat its revised guidance for order inflow in the last financial year, remains optimistic of a promising year ahead for new orders.

Larsen & Toubro's construction arm has won orders worth Rs 5,704 crore in domestic market.

"The water and effluent treatment business of L&T Construction has secured orders worth Rs 5,704 crore," the engineering and construction major said in a BSE filing.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said L&T Construction has bagged a Rs 3,191 crore order from Dhaka Mass Transit Company for construction of a railway line for Dhaka Metro. L&T said it has secured the order in JV with Marubeni Corporation (Japan) through an international competitive bidding process.

Mumbai: L&T Technology Services posted an annual revenue growth of 15.4 per cent to Rs 37.47 billion and profit rose 19 per cent to Rs 5.060 billion for the year ended March 31.

For the March quarter, the company posted year-on-year (y-o-y) revenue growth of 30 per cent to Rs 10.54 billion. It reported a 65.6 per cent growth in quarterly profit to Rs 1.58 billion compared to the year-ago period.

Through a Larsen & Toubro (L&T) application, operational creditors to Bhushan Steel have got a window of hope at the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on their dues to the insolvent company.

The appellate body has agreed to hear the L&T petition on its Rs 9.62 billion of dues from Bhushan Steel. The case will be heard on Tuesday. Bhushan Steel was taken over by Tata Steel last week, after a protracted process under the insolvency law, involving some controversy.

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in consortium with TechnipFMC has bagged two orders from Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd for setting up two fertilizer plants. “L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly owned subsidiary of… Larsen & Toubro Ltd, in consortium with TechnipFMC, has won two significant orders from Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd (HURL), a joint venture company of IOCL, NTPC, CIL, FCIL and HFCL,” Larsen and Toubro (L&T) said in a BSE filing.
