KOLKATA: Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has successfully commissioned a 600 MW coal-based thermal power plant in the state of Telangana.

The unit has been commissioned at the upcoming 2x600 MW Singareni Thermal Power Project (TPP) located in Adilabad district in Telangana. The project is being developed by Singareni Collieries Company (SCCL), India's second largest coal mining company. With the commissioning of this unit, SCCL has now successfully diversified into the power generation business.

Navin Jindal-promoted Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has slapped a Rs 123-crore notice on the state-run power equipment maker BHEL, citing delays in execution of projects at two units of JSPL’s 2,400 MW coal-based plant at Tamnar in Chhattisgarh. JSPL invoked the contractual clause titled ‘liquidated damages’.

BHEL is executing the boiler, turbine and generator (BTG) packages for all the four units of the plant. While it commissioned the first and fourth units on schedule, there were delays of four and eight months respectively in case of the second and third units.

New Delhi, March 13: State-owned power equipment maker Bhel has emerged as the lowest bidder for a thermal power project in Bangladesh. The $1.6-billion project will give a boost to India's energy diplomacy.

The proposed plant at Khulna will run on imported coal with capacity of 1,320 megawatt (MW), with two units to be built each of 660MW.

NEW DELHI: The state-owned power equipment maker BHEL today said it has commissioned a 500-mw unit at Anpara-D thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh.

"Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has achieved yet another landmark in the power development programme... by successfully commissioning the second 500-mw thermal unit at Anpara-D thermal power plant (TPP) in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh," the company said in a statement.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) share price surged as much as 4.7 per cent in the afternoon trade on Friday after it informed bourses that it has successfully commissioned its first 700 MW supercritical thermal unit at Bellary Thermal Project in Karnataka.

At 12.37 pm, shares of BHEL were trading 3.83 per cent up at Rs 107.05. The scrip opened at Rs 103.95 and had touched a high and low of Rs 107.95 and Rs 102.10, respectively, in trade so far.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has surged 10% to Rs 102 on the BSE after the company announced that it has won an order worth Rs 5,600 crore from Tamil Nadu government.

The Tamil Nadu Government has handed over the Letter of Award (LOA) for setting up of the Main Plant Package for the 2X800 mega watt (Mw) Uppur Supercritical Thermal Power Project, BHEL said in a press release.

After years of negotiations, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) will sign a contract to build a 1,320-megawatt (MW) thermal power station in Khulna in southern Bangladesh on February 28, officials in New Delhi and Dhaka said.

Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has fallen below Rs 100 mark to Rs 98.75, its lowest level since August 2005 on the BSE.

The stock has underperforming the market by falling 23% from Rs 128 on February 10, after the company reported a huge loss of Rs 1,102 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015, (Q3FY16) compared to a net profit of Rs 213 crore in the same quarter last year. The S&P BSE Sensex was down 1% during the same period.

NEW DELHI: State-run BHEL today said that it has commissioned a 101 MW gas-based Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis, in Tripura.

"The power plant has been commissioned at Monarchak, 66 km from Agartala city. The order for the Advanced-class gas turbine-based 101 MW CCPP was placed on BHEL by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited ( NEEPCO)," the company said in a press release.
