India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) is looking to add 400 vendors to its suppliers’ training programme to enhance quality and production efficiency.

Under this programme, the company will assist 400 tier-1 suppliers on global best practices for training workforce by 2020. MSIL has so far established 90 Dojo centres – state-of-the-art facility for learning – to help vendors achieve greater operational efficiency.

The pace of growth in Suzuki Motor Corporation’s (SMC) earnings from its prized Indian subsidiary Maruti Suzuki has started slowing down, primarily because of a lower increase in dividend income compared to

previous few years. Royalty share, too, is down and will continue to see a gradual decline in the near future.

New Delhi: Japanese carmaker Suzuki Motor Corp. plans to expand production capacity by as many as 2.5 million cars a year in the decade to 2030 as it lays the groundwork to maintain its dominance in India, where it sells one in two cars.

The capacity expansion, the biggest ever planned by Suzuki or its local unit in India, will be divided into two phases, two people aware of the plans said, requesting anonymity. Suzuki will first expand its Gujarat plant by adding capacity to make 750,000 cars starting 2020.

New Delhi: Most of the $1.5 billion allocated by Suzuki Motor Corp. for its research and development (R&D) activities will be spent on its most profitable unit Maruti Suzuki and help the Indian firm maintain its 50% market share amid increasing competition from European and Korean manufacturers.

Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday said that it is undertaking a service campaign to inspect 52,686 units of its new Swift and Baleno, both hugely popular cars, for a possible fault in the brake vacuum hose. The units manufactured between December 1, 2017 and March 16, 2018 will be covered under the campaign.

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday said it is asking customers of 52,686 new Swift and Baleno models to undertake a service campaign to inspect for a possible fault in brake vacuum hose.

New Swift and Baleno units manufactured between 1 December, 2017 and 16 March, 2018 will be covered in this campaign, MSI said in communication to customers on its website.

India's leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki has set up the first Institute of Driving Training and Traffic Research (IDTR) in Bihar and was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar.

This new IDTR will set standards for quality driving training and also impart driving training, theoretical and practical, to aspiring and existing drivers. Maruti Suzuki says that this initiative will focus on the ‘Train-the-Trainer’ model, to have a multiplier effect and upgrade the driving skills of a larger number of people.

The country’s top carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, on Friday reported 10 per cent growth in profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2018. Net profit for the three months stood at Rs 18.8 billion, lower than analysts’ expectations of over Rs 22 billion. The company said an increase in corporate tax rates affected profitability.

Maruti Suzuki also reported a record annual profit of Rs 77.21 billion for the year ended March 31.

On Friday, Maruti Suzuki will report the financial performance for the January – March 2018 quarter (Q4FY18) and the full financial year 2017-18 (FY18).

The automobile sector, which witnessed a healthy sales growth in FY18 led by higher demand from rural markets and the fast-growing SUV segment, should continue to do well in the new fiscal year (FY19) as well, analysts say.
