MUMBAI: The BSE Sensex recovered by 58 points in early trade on Tuesday on fresh buying by investors and foreign funds on hopes of passage of the GST bill in Rajya Sabha amid mixed global cues.

The 30-share index rose 58.07 points or 0.20% to 27,804.73 with the sectoral indices led by metal, realty, oil&gas, auto and healthcare, rising by up to 0.68%.

MUMBAI: The sensex recovered by 147 points in early trade on Monday on sustained buying by foreign funds and retail investors after Reliance Industries reported better-than-expected earnings and exports rose 1.27 per cent in June.

Moreover, good progress in monsoon and mixed Asian markets influenced trading sentiments here.

Indian stocks declined for the first time this week as the quarterly results of the nation’s second-biggest software exporter disappointed investors.

Infosys Ltd tumbled the most since April 2013 after paring its annual sales outlook. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS), Asia’s largest technology exporter, decreased the most in five months.

The domestic equity markets opened flat on Thursday, tracking a similar trend in the Asian markets.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan, were down 0.1% but the index was still at an eight-month peak; Nikkei was flat, a Reuters report said.

MUMBAI: Across-the-board buying, backed by strong global cues, expectations of better corporate numbers, fall in crude oil prices and good progress of the monsoon pushed the sensex to near its 11-month high at 26,647 points on Monday with 29 of its 30 constituents closing with gains.

Talks about a possible support from Congress party for the passage of the GST bill in Rajya Sabha also added to the positive sentiment, dealers said.

After ending flat on Friday, the two domestic equity markets opened strong on Monday, tracking a positive trend in the global markets.

BSE Sensex opened over 300 points up and soon climbed 440.89 points higher to 27,567.79 or 1.63% higher while NSE Nifty was up 1.49% or 124.20 points up at 8,447.40 from Friday's close.

Mumbai: Indian stocks fell, with the benchmark index erasing a weekly advance, as energy and telecom shares dropped and investors focused on the start of the results season next week.

Bharti Airtel Ltd and Idea Cellular Ltd, the nation’s largest mobile-phone operators, slid more than 2% each after the government said it will recover money from them for understating revenues for four years. Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd (ONGC), the biggest state explorer, retreated for a third day as crude oil traded below $46 a barrel.

The benchmark Sensex fell over 33 points in early trade as investors booked profits in recent gainers amid mixed Asian cues.

The 30-share barometer declined 33.44 points, or 0.12%, to 27,245.32, with sectoral indices led by power, realty, auto, capital goods and IT bringing about the fall.

Adding to its rally for the sixth session, the benchmark Sensex zoomed over 201 points on Monday as investors mounted more bullish bets amid good progress in monsoon rains and firming Asian cues.

The 30-share barometer surged 201.10 points, or 0.74 per cent, to 27,346.01. The gauge had gained 747.20 points in the previous five sessions.
