Nanosolar technology start-up company's design and product innovations produce solar cells that can be as efficient and last as long as conventional silicon solar cells. The key part of the company's technology is that it can "print" (coat with a chemical solution) the most expensive layers of a solar cell. Founded in 2002, Nanosolar received financial backing from leading technology investors, including Benchmark Capital, Stanford University, and Mitsui & Co.
