Emmet Marvin & Martin, LLP
Thomas Addis Emmet, who served as Attorney General of New York State in 1812 and 1813. From the time of his death in 1827 until 1868, the practice was continued by his sons. In 1868 the firm's name changed to Emmet and Robinson, and in 1911 to Emmet and Parish. From 1920 to 1925, during the period when Franklin Delano Roosevelt, later the nation's 32nd president, was a partner, the firm was known as Emmet, Marvin and Roosevelt. Since 1925 the practice continued under the name of Emmet, Marvin & Martin. In 1995, the firm became a limited liability partnership.
