Northeastern Products Corp.

Northeastern Products (also known as NEPCO) manufactures a wide variety of wood fiber-based pet litters. Founded in 1955 NEPCO began producing pet bedding materials for laboratory animal experiments in the 1960s. It has been the official supplier of such products to the National Institute of Health since the 1970s. Its best known product lines are sold under the Beta Chip and Cedarific names. In addition to litters NEPCO makes hardwood chips for use in meat smoking, with maple, cherry, hickory, and hickory and hardwood blend varieties that are sold through a network of distributors. The company operates manufacturing facilities in New York, Michigan, and Kentucky.
