States Industries sells its products through retail stores, wholesale distributors, and directly to large wood product manufacturers. Mounting debt and declining sales forced States Industries to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010. Shortly after, it was acquired by leading creditor Renwood Opportunities Fund for nearly $20 million.
