His grandson, Alan Neely, is the company's president. Giles Industries is among Berkshire Hathaway's trailer park of companies that make manufactured homes. It was bought by Southern Energy Homes in 2006 -- the same year that company was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway's Clayton Homes.

Horton Homes, a subsidiary of Horton Industries along with sister subsidiary Dynasty Homes, makes manufactured houses and buildings, and HUD coded homes for sale primarily in the southeastern US. The company sells through retail centers in 12 states, where buyers may choose from more than 50 floor plans and such amenities as bay windows, vaulted ceilings, walk-in closets, and skylights. Since its 1970 inception inside an empty chicken house, the company has upped its production from three homes a week to 500 homes per week at the height of its popularity: it now makes about 100 units a week. Founder and CEO Nevils Horton Jr. owns the company.
