American Labelmark wants to take some of the danger out of hazardous materials. The firm's Labelmaster division sells books, training manuals, and protective equipment (such as steel salvage drums and spill kits) to companies that transport hazardous materials, helping them navigate the maze of government rules. It also makes labels and signage for hazardous materials and infectious waste transportation, along with labels concerning workplace safety and ergonomics. Aqua-Pure Ventures has developed a patented wastewater distillation process used in wastewater recycling. Primarily used for industrial applications, Aqua-Pure's Clear Solutions system provides evaporation technology that can easily mix with other wastewater-treatment methods. Among its many uses, Clear Solutions may be applied for treating medical wastewater and for seawater desalination. In North America Aqua-Pure distributes the Salsnes Filter, used by municipalities and industrial companies for treating wastewater. This technology, developed by the Salsnes company in Norway, can be installed in new plants or mixed with technology already in use.

Aquilex speaks softly and carries a big wrench. Through its operating subsidiaries, Aquilex Corporation provides maintenance, repair services and technical support to heavy industry worldwide. Customers include power generation facilities and other industrial plants, including cement, chemical, petrochemical, oil and natural gas processing, pulp and paper, metal refining, and steel manufacturing operations. The company was controlled by private equity firm Harvest Partners (which bought the company from First Reserve in 2007). In 2008 Harvest Partners sold the company to Teachers' Private Capital, the private investment arm of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
