The HSC Pediatric Center
The HSC Pediatric Center (formerly The Hospital for Sick Children) provides medical and rehabilitative care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. The organization provides specialized care for young people in the transition from acute care to home care. Clinical experts at the center include doctors and nurses, as well as physical therapists, speech therapists, dieticians, and case managers. The organization's origins date back to 1883, when young women of St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington, DC, opened the "Children's Country Home," at what was then the outskirts of the district, as a place for kids to escape from the city during the summertime.
