RehabCare Group, Inc. provides rehabilitation program management services in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient facilities, and other long-term care facilities in the United States. It operates in two segments, Program Management Services and Hospitals. The Program Management Services segment provides hospital rehabilitation services, including inpatient acute and subacute rehabilitation for conditions, such as stroke, orthopedic conditions, head injuries, cancer, heart failure, burns, and wounds; and outpatient therapy programs for hospital-based and satellite programs. This segment also offers skilled nursing rehabilitation services, such as contract therapy in skilled nursing, long-term care, and assisted living facilities for neurological, orthopedic, and other medical conditions; resident-centered management consulting services; and staffing services for therapists and nurses. The Hospital segment provides therapeutic and clinical care to patients with medically complex diagnoses; and interdisciplinary rehabilitation services to patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis. As of March 2, 2010, RehabCare Group, Inc. operated 34 long-term acute care and rehabilitation hospitals. The company was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
