Its home-based medical transcriptionists convert the physicians' recorded notes (made using either Transcend Services' proprietary BeyondTXT technology or the clients' own systems) into text documents. The company is increasingly using speech recognition software to automatically convert voice to text, after which the documents are edited by transcriptionists. Transcend Services counts some 250 hospitals, clinics, and physician group practices among its customers.

UCI Medical Affiliates seeks out doctors looking to avoid paperwork.UCI Medical Affiliates company provides practice management services to about 60 freestanding medical clinics, mostly in South Carolina. (It has one center in Tennessee.) The clinics operate primarily under the Doctors Care and Progressive Physical Therapy names. UCI provides nonmedical management and administrative services, such as planning, accounting, insurance contracting and billing, non-medical staffing, and other office services. Its Doctors Care locations are urgent care clinics that handle minor emergencies and provide primary care services. WellGroup HealthPartners provides medical care through a network of health care facilities in the southern suburbs of Chicago. The medical provider operates about a half dozen clinics offering general practice and specialty services. Its more than 80 doctors represent about 25 medical, diagnostic, and surgical specialties, including obstetrics, internal medicine, pulmonary health, orthopedics, endocrinology, and pediatrics. Additional services include rehabilitation therapy, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, and laboratory offerings. WellGroup HealthPartners is part of the Sisters of St. Francis Health Services.

WellMed's doctors can probably treat it. Specializing in health care services for Medicare-eligible senior citizens, WellMed provides primary care services through more than 24 offices in Texas, as well as a handful of offices in Florida. It provides supplemental programs through affiliates as well, including health care plans, transportation, fitness programs, chronic disease management, and imaging services. Other operations include providing management services to some 100 affiliated physicians' offices in the San Antonio and Orlando (many of which also serve as an extended network for WellMed's patients). WellMed was founded in 1990 by CEO George M. Rapier III, MD.
