Evanston Regional Hospital provides a variety of health care services to residents in rural southwestern Wyoming. The 40-bed facility is a community medical center offering general health and specialty care services including emergency medicine, surgery, radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, and neurology, as well as women's and children's services. It also offers a sleep diagnostics laboratory, a diabetes education program, and nutritional counseling. The hospital has more than 20 physicians on its active medical staff. To ease the strain on its ER, the facility installed an observation unit where patients who need longer care but don't necessarily need to be admitted can be seen for up to 23 hours. The hospital also offers residency programs in family practice, internal medicine, OB-GYN, and general surgery. Founded as Colorado's first private hospital, Exempla Saint Joseph is part of Exempla Healthcare.
