Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) fights cancer on two fronts. It provides treatment to cancer patients young and old, and researches new cancer diagnostics, treatments, and preventions. The organization's scientists are also researching AIDS treatments and cures for a host of other deadly diseases. Patients receive treatment from DFCI through its cancer centers operated in conjunction with Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital Boston, and Massachusetts General Hospital. The institute is also a principal teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. The DFCI is funded by the National Cancer Institute, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and private contributions.
