Founded in 1878 as Fairfield County's first hospital, Bridgeport Hospital has grown into a nearly $350 million regional health care organization. Serving as a bridge to wellness and a port in the stormy waters of health care is the 425-bed Bridgeport Hospital. Part of the Yale New Haven Health System, the facility offers acute care and specialized services to residents of Bridgeport, Connecticut and surrounding counties. The hospital operates a cancer center, a burn treatment center, a heart center, and a rehabilitation therapy center. Its medical staff includes more than 550 physicians representing more than 60 specialties.

The Harvard-affiliated facility has some 780 beds and includes the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center, a partnership between the hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Other specialty units focus on cardiology, neurology, transplants, and obstetrics. In addition to being a teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women's Hospital conducts research and clinical trials to help further medical care. It's a top recipient of research grants from the National Institutes of Health. Brigham and Women's Hospital is a founding member of the Partners HealthCare System.

Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center cares for patients in the central and south Bronx, no doubt while rooting for the Yankees a few blocks away. The health care provider has about 960 beds on its two campuses, as well as psychiatric and nursing home facilities. Hospital specialty units include chest pain, orthopedic, cancer, and women's health centers. In addition, Bronx-Lebanon manages a network of about 70 owned and affiliated medical practices; the network -- branded as BronxCare -- includes primary care doctors and specialty clinics, as well as rehabilitation facilities. The hospital is also a primary teaching hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center is a 306-bed acute-care, voluntary not-for-profit community hospital located in East Patchogue, New York. We opened our doors to the community in 1956. Brooks Health System operates Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, a more than 140-bed facility dedicated to helping patients recover from injury and illness. Rehabilitation services include physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The not-for-profit hospital also helps patients coping with chronic pain, cognitive disorders, and other long-term disabilities. Brooks Health System provides outpatient care through a network of some two dozen outpatient clinics in northeast Florida. The system is a research affiliate of the Health Science Center at the University of Florida.
