Cardica, Inc. designs and manufactures medical devices for cardiac and other surgical procedures based on its proprietary stapling and cutting technology. It designs and manufactures its automated anastomosis product line, the C-Port Distal Anastomosis systems and PAS-Port Proximal Anastomosis system to automate the joining of blood vessels for the coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery market. The company develops the C-Port Flex A Anastomosis system to enable automated anastomoses, or the joining of blood vessels, to be performed as part of minimally invasive and surgical robot-facilitated CABG procedures. In addition, Cardica is developing the Microcutter, a true multi-fire endoscopic stapling device designed to be used in a various procedures, including bariatric, thoracic, and general surgery.
