WIND Hellas provides mobile voice and data services to about 6 million consumer and business customers throughout Greece. The company enables international roaming in 155 countries for travelling subscribers through agreements with other carriers. It also provides cellular and satellite-based vehicle management and tracking services. WIND Hellas is owned by investment firm Weather Investments, a company led by Cairo-based Orascom Telecom's founder and chairman, Naguib Sawiris.

Wireless Xcessories Group dresses up cellular phones. The company markets and distributes about 3,000 accessory products for wireless phones and other portable devices. Decorative carrying cases, hands-free kits, rechargeable batteries, chargers, antennae, and other items are sold primarily in North America through retailers and distributors, and from its e-commerce Web site; a majority of its products are manufactured in China and Taiwan. Wireless Xcessories also offers ancillary products and services such as retail packaging, displays, posters, and marketing. In addition, the company distributes third-party cell phone products made by Motorola, Nokia, and other cell phone manufacturers.

Wisair's wares send signals whizzing through the air. Wisair designs chipsets used in ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communications devices. UWB transmissions can carry information at rates much faster than Wi-Fi; Wisair touts its chipsets as enabling Wireless USB home and office connectivity for devices such as printers at low cost and low levels of power consumption. The company's investors include Apax Partners, Intel, and Vertex Venture Capital. Wisair has offices in Israel, Japan, and the US. The company is part of the RAD Group, a corporate family of high-tech firms that are linked by coordinated strategy rather than formal ownership.

Wistron NeWeb is wishing for even more people to buy and use cell phones. The company makes wireless communications equipment, including antennas, mobile handsets, wireless networking equipment (routers, Internet phones, Ethernet cards), satellite radios, and set-top boxes for satellite TV. It sells its products to OEMs and other corporate customers. Other companies in the Wistron Group corporate family include PC, software, and computer component manufacturers. Electronics manufacturer Wistron owns about a quarter of Wistron NeWeb, which was formed in 1996.

XIUS-bcgi hopes US wireless carriers find some of that outsourcing religion. Formerly Boston Communications Group (BCGI), the company offers software and services that help wireless network operators and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) manage their billing and payment processes, as well as other back-office functions. Its Voyager Billing and Real-Time Billing products enable customers to track both prepaid and postpaid calling plans, while other systems allow payment using the Web or ATMs. The company also provides software that blocks access to inappropriate content. Megasoft acquired BCGI in 2007 for about $65 million, combining the company with its XIUS telecom division almost immediately.
