Founder William Randolph Hearst established the UK presence in 1910. A subsidiary of The Hearst Corporation, The National Magazine Company (NatMag) publishes about 20 magazines in the UK. Its titles include Cosmopolitan, Country Living, Harper's Bazaar, Esquire, and Good Housekeeping. The National Magazine company partnered with Rodale to publish Men's Health and Runner's World in the UK through its NatMag-Rodale unit. Its COMAG is a distribution partnership with Conde Nast Publications Limited (part of Conde Nast), one of the UK's largest magazine distributors.

A steady flow of readers, that's what The River Group aims to deliver. The custom publisher, which does business as River Publishing, produces marketing-centered customer magazines for such firms as WeightWatchers International, Harrods, and Holland & Barrett. (River produces 3 magazines on behalf of Weight Watchers -- Weight Watchers magazine, Your Week, and Irresistible.) The firm also offers promotions and special events planning and organization, as well as ad sales services for clients who want their publications to be self-funding. It also publishes online versions of its customer magazines.
