The Okonite Company, Inc.

Okonite was one of the first US makers of insulated electrical wire and cable. Early customers included not only Edison but also telegraphy pioneer Samuel Morse. Still a leader in the insulated electric wire and cable industry, Okonite specializes in control, distribution, instrumentation, power, signal, communication transmission, and special purpose wire and cable products for high and low voltage needs. The Okonite company supplies its products to chemical plants, electric utilities, paper mills, railroads, refineries, and other industries. Okonite was founded in 1878, and has been employee-owned since 1976.
