VivaAerobus is a low-cost carrier that flies to 18 cities in Mexico from its hub in Monterrey and also lands in Austin, Texas, in the US. With VivaAerobus' no-frills service, passengers pay to check their luggage and purchase food; seating is first-come, first-serve. The airline was created in 2006 by European discount airline Ryanair and Mexican bus transportation company IAMSA. It has a fleet of nine Boeing 737-300 jets, but it also offers bus travel along with its flights to more than 70 destinations in Mexico and three in Texas (from Austin, the shuttle goes to El Paso, San Antonio, or Houston.)
