Sun World was established in early 1976 as a packer and marketer of fresh fruits and vegetables. In the 1980s, consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables was on the rise and consumers were increasingly seeking better tasting, more conveniently available produce.
As the market changed, so did Sun World. The Company exited the commodity fruit and vegetable business and became involved in the farming, packing and marketing of an extensive collection of specialty-branded produce.Sun World initiated a series of relationships with various research and academic organizations around the world, setting out on its quest to improve the flavor, color, texture and overall quality of specific fruits and vegetables.
