Special Devices sells its products primarily to airbag manufacturers. Autoliv and TRW Automotive are customers of Special Devices. The company's initiators also found applications in the aerospace/military and mining and blasting sectors. Special Devices filed for Chapter 11 protection from creditors in late 2008.
