Arianespace is tops in space launches. Arianespace, the world's leading satellite launch company, is a private European commercial space consortium that has launched more than 260 satellites using its Ariane launch vehicles. Satellite operators and telecom customers that use Arianespace services include NASA and AT&T in the US, France Telecom and Inmarsat in Europe, and Singapore Telecom and NTT DoCoMo in Asia. Satellite makers -- including Boeing Satellite Systems, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, and Mitsubishi Electric -- are also among its customers. Babcock Marine also offers engineering and consulting services through its Frazer-Nash and LSC Group subsidiaries. DML Group was formed to run the Devonport Royal Dockyard, which it purchased in 1997. The company had been a joint venture of Halliburton, Balfour Beatty, and the Weir Group until 2007 when it was purchased Babcock International Group PLC. Babcock International then formed Babcock Marine, of which the former DML Group is a part.

BAE Submarine Solutions is a business unit of BAE SYSTEMS' naval systems program. BAE Systems Submarines is the prime contractor for the Astute class of nuclear-powered attack submarines being built for the UK Ministry of Defence. Touted as being more flexible, mobile, and stealthy than previous submarines, the Astute is also powered by an onboard nuclear power plant that requires no refueling. Submarine Solutions is also providing initial in-service support. In addition to building submarines, the unit has reactivated four Upholder-class submarines for the Canadian Navy and built the HMS Bulwark assault ship for the Royal Navy.

BAE Systems Land Systems can do battle both on land and at sea. A business unit of BAE SYSTEMS, Land Systems makes military vehicles, battle tanks, armoured personnel carriers, mobile platforms, ammunition, turreted weapons systems, bridging equipment, engineering vehicles, and naval guns and launchers. Land Systems' customers include the US Department of Defense and the Netherlands Defence Materiel Organisation. BAE Systems Land Systems was created in 2004 when BAE SYSTEMS combined its RO Defence unit (formerly Royal Ordnance plc) with its newly acquired Alvis subsidiary.
