The firm's roots go back to the mid-'70s, when Ed Koller joined Howard-Sloan Associates, a recruiting firm established in 1957. In 1989, he acquired the part of the firm he had been running and launched the Howard-Sloan-Koller Group (HSK) as a newly focused entity: A retained search resource for the media sector. In 1991, as synergies grew between the advertising and media industries, HSK acquired Jerry Fields Associates, the leading recruitment firm in advertising. Today, the Jerry Fields name has been brought under the Howard-Sloan-Koller umbrella to reflect the convergence of these industries and to provide the firm with a single brand with a unified message.
