Raptor Detection, Inc.
This is no bird of prey, but it's definitely a deterrent to chemical, biological, and explosive agents. Raptor Detection (formerly Link Plus) develops sensors and sensor systems capable of detecting trace amounts of dangerous substances. Its SAFE-T products use MIP (molecular imprinted polymer) technology and include screening wipes and sprays, and paintballs that help in abating counterfeiting and smuggling. Subsidiary Columbia BioSystems works with the US Army, the University of Maryland, and The Johns Hopkins University to develop products using MIP technology for the detection of hospital-acquired pathogens. CEO Jonathan Gluckman and founder Robert Jones own 19% and 18% of the company, respectively.
