Fisher company manufactures automotive seating components, including armrests, headrests, latches, and seat recliners. Its metal forming business offers a myriad of safety-critical parts, from stampings to blankings and broachings. Fisher products are sold worldwide to automotive OEMs Chrysler, Ford, and GM, as well as auto parts makers Lear, Delphi, and Visteon. The global economic recession pushed the company in 2008 to close its Tennessee plant and move work to Mexico, cutting 400 US jobs. Fisher is led by family members of its founder, Alfred J. Fisher.
