Korea Gas Corporation is the world's largest importer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), KOGAS single-handedly helps South Koreans stay warm and chill out. Korea Gas Corporation is the sole provider of LNG to the country (24.6 million tons imported annually), operating three terminals and a nationwide pipeline network. KOGAS supplies LNG to power plants and utility companies throughout South Korea, and produces and supplies LNG products to domestic and overseas markets. Most of its imports come from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, and Qatar. It is seeking new sources in Canada. KOGAS development initiatives include natural gas vehicles, LNG chiller/heater systems for homes, and fuel cells. The Korean government owns about 27% of the company.
