Coach USA gets a little coaching from across the Atlantic. One of the largest bus companies in the US, Coach USA is a unit of Stagecoach Group, a UK-based bus and train operator. Coach USA, through about 20 subsidiaries, operates scheduled routes (including airport transportation), charters, and sightseeing tours, primarily in the Northeast and the Midwest. The company's fleet includes about 2,400 buses, trolleys, vans, minibuses (with a 24- to 30-passenger capacity), and school buses. Coach USA's Megabus.com unit, modeled after a Stagecoach offering, provides low-fare scheduled intercity express service to about 30 destinations.

Connecting Singapore and the UK by bus or taxi would pose considerable logistical difficulties, but ComfortDelGro's mix of businesses bridges the gap. The transportation holding company controls Singapore-based bus and rail operator SBS Transit and taxi companies Comfort Transportation and CityCab, along with interests in diesel fuel sales and automobile inspection, leasing, repair, and sales businesses. Singapore accounts for the majority of the company's sales, but ComfortDelGro also has significant bus and taxi operations in several markets in the UK and Ireland, as well as in China and Australia. The company was formed in 2003 from the merger of Comfort Group and DelGro Corporation.

Concordia Bus knows that public transportation is the way of the future in Europe. The company, through its subsidiaries, operates bus systems throughout Sweden and in major urban areas in Norway and Finland. Its Concordia Bus Nordic unit operates the bus systems under contracts with public transportation authorities in Sweden (through Swebus), Norway (through Schøyen Bilcentraler), and Finland (through Concordia Bus Finland). It also offers express bus services (Swebus Express) and bus rental for its bus companies (Concordia Bus Fleet).

Convention Tours Unlimited has a myriad of possibilities for an unconventional way to see NYC. The company offers convention goers, and other groups of 25 or more, nearly 30 bus and/or walking tours of New York city and the surrounding areas along with another 10 tours specifically for shopping (discount, outlets, jewelry, gourmet food, and designer apparel). It also sells Broadway, opera, and sports tickets; arranges limousine and other special transportation; plans events (including New York Harbor dinner cruises); and offers multi-day packages that include accommodations, meals, and tours.

Children sit on seats fashioned as cars or motorcycles and watch videos or play the latest Nintendo games while getting haircuts. There's even an enclosed play area for smaller kids waiting for cuts. Special services include cornrow braiding with beads or other accessories and shampoo with a chlorine removal treatment. Salon giant Regis acquired a minority stake in Cool Cuts in 2004 and exercised its option to purchase the company outright in early 2009.
