Inotera Memories, Inc.

Inotera Memories, Inc. company, founded in 2003, makes high-density and high-performance commodity DRAMs, which are used in PCs and consumer electronics. Inotera originally was a joint venture between Qimonda and Nanya Technology, and the three companies benefited from sharing technology. Nanya accounted for 50% of Inotera's sales, and Qimonda accounted for 40%. In late 2008 Qimonda sold its stake in Inotera to Micron Technology for $400 million. Both of Inotera's manufacturing facilities use silicon wafers measuring 300mm (about 12 inches) in diameter; 300mm wafers provide greater manufacturing efficiencies, compared with smaller-diameter wafers.
