Cascade General is located at the Portland Shipyard, in Portland, Oregon - the largest and most complete, ship repair facility on the U.S. West Coast. This 60-acre, integrated facility is owned by its sister company, Shipyard Commerce Center, giving Cascade General full access to its state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure. Connected to the Pacific Ocean by the 40', Columbia/Willamette shipping channel, the Portland Shipyard offers a salt-free environment, mild climate, and sheltered berthage.
Since 1995, Cascade General has continued that spirit of innovation with a modernization program that has re-defined industry standards for quality, safety and productivity. Innovative project-management systems and training programs have earned the company a reputation for on-time, on-budget work, even on the most difficult repair jobs.
Cascade General has taken full advantage of Portland Shipyard's world-class assets, which include the Panamax (114' wide) Dry Dock 3; and Dry Dock 1 serving smaller craft. Dockside, there are 17 Whirley cranes (22-134 tons) 550,000 sq.ft. of covered craft shops and a full complement of state-of-the-art ship repair equipment. A 200,000 barrel, ballast-water, treatment plant is one of many unique assets which the company offers to shipping customers.
