The research on oil palm under irrigated conditions is practically a new start and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research has established the National Research Centre for Oil Palm at Pedavegi in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on 19th February, 1995.

The National Research Laboratory for Conservation of Cultural Property (NRLC) is a scientific institution of the Department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. NRLC was established in 1976 to give a scientific footing to the conservation of cultural property in the country. In its formative stages, the NRLC was developed with monetary and technical assistance from the UNDP and UNESCO, and now it is an Associate Member of the Rome based International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property.

Established in 1991, with Dutch assistance under a bilateral agreement between Government of India & The Netherlands. NSDRC has gradually developed into one of the Premier Ship Design & Maritime Research Centres in the world. Today, NSDRC has become one of the important, self sustaining, profit centres, in the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.

NATPAC was established in 1976 as a Division of Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (KELTRON), a Public Sector Enterprise under the Government of Kerala. The Centre is undertaking research and consultancy works in the fields of traffic engineering and transportation planning, highway engineering, public transport system, inland water transport, tourism planning, rural roads, environmental impact assessment and transport energy.
