A national service planned, developed and operated by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting under the Government of India. AIR today has a network of 207 broadcasting centres with 149 medium frequency(MW), 48 high frequency (SW) and 124 FM transmitters. The coverage is 90% of the area, serving 98.81% of the people in the largest democracy of the world. AIR covers 24 languages and 146 dialects in Home Service. In Externel Services, it covers 26 languages; 16 national and 10 foreign languages.
