And for generations, village families in the state of Rajasthan have been producing exquisite block-printed textiles. Since 1984, Soma has been bringing these fine products to the world, providing the link between the over 300 families involved in the production and the thousands of consumers who have come to depend on us for consistent quality and world-class creativity. Many village women who are engaged in child-care and homemaking are able to supplement their family's income by working in their homes, hand-quilting, embroidering, or attaching beads and tassels to garments. From these remote villages to the city showrooms, women play important roles at all stages of creativity, production and management. Soma House, where designing, production planning, quality control, packing and administration takes place is located in a quiet suburb on the outskirts of Jaipur, the busy capital of the state of Rajasthan.
